Why home-based setups fail

Google's video verification was designed around storefronts. A contractor working from a house on a quiet street, or out of a truck, has to show the same three things a different way.

Rejections we see reported most: the video didn't show enough of the surroundings to place it, there was no visible business name, the clip was edited or cut, or the person filming couldn't show they manage the business.

After a few failed attempts some profiles show "no more ways to verify". That's not the end, but the next step goes through Business Profile support rather than another video.

The process

The video shot list

Step 1

First, where you are.

Start outside in one continuous take. Street signs, the house number, a neighboring business or landmark: whatever places you at the address on the profile. Google asks for the location, the business and proof you manage it, in one unedited clip.

Step 2

Then, the business.

Your lettered truck or van with the name that matches the profile, your tools and equipment, branded shirts, signage at the shop if you have one. The name on camera should match the name on the profile exactly.

Step 3

After that, proof it's yours.

Something only the owner or staff can do: unlock the vehicle or the tool trailer, open the shop, show a business document with the same name and address.

Step 4

One take, no edits.

Keep it continuous, steady and well lit, and upload it from the account that manages the profile. No music, no cuts, no captions.

Don't bend the rules

The fastest way to turn a verification problem into a suspension is to bend the rules to pass it.

  • Don't use a virtual office, coworking desk or mailbox address to get verified. Google treats it as a fake location.
  • If customers don't come to you, hide the address after verifying and set a service area.
  • Use the business name on your registration and your truck. No added keywords or city names.
  • Don't film somewhere that isn't the address on the profile.

If your business can't honestly show those three things yet (no lettering, no documents in the business name), fix that first. Magnetic truck signs and a state business registration are often the missing pieces.

Fixed fee

Verification help

$197 flat

A shot list written for your location and setup, a review of your recording before you submit it, and help with the next step if Google rejects it.

We never film for you or submit a video from somewhere you don't work. If your profile is already suspended rather than unverified, reinstatement is the right service.

FAQ

Verification questions

The free audit answers most of these for your business specifically.

How do I verify my Google Business Profile without a storefront?

In most cases with a video that shows where you are, the business (lettered vehicle, tools, equipment) and proof you manage it, in one unedited take. Google decides which verification options a profile gets; phone or postcard options aren't available to everyone.

My video verification was rejected twice. What now?

Work out what was missing before trying again: usually the surroundings, the business name, or proof of management. If the profile now says there are no more ways to verify, the next step is Business Profile support, with documents ready.

Can I verify at a virtual office or my accountant's address?

No. Google treats virtual offices and addresses you don't really operate from as fake locations, and profiles verified that way are a common source of suspensions.

Should my home address show on Google?

Not if customers don't visit. Verify at the real address, then hide it and set a service area. You'll still rank near home.

Do you guarantee verification?

No. Google decides. We make sure what you submit shows what Google asks for and that nothing in it breaks the guidelines.
